Ferrovial leads the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World in the construction and engineering sectors. Made by the RobecoSAM agency, the index is recognized as the most prestigious in the world. The company is listed in the global and European indexes for the 18th consecutive year. In this year’s edition, a total of four companies have been included in the world index of both sectors, while the European index is formed only by three organizations.
This nomination reflects the company’s strength in its environmental, social, and economic performance. It also highlights its environmental achievements as Ferrovial has obtained the highest score within its sector, reaching the highest possible score in terms of Materiality, Eco efficiency and Climate Strategy among others.
About the index
The company was included in the DJSI for the first time in 2002, and also features in other indexes such as the FTSE4Good since 2005 (and its Spanish equivalent, the FTSE4Good IBEX, since 2008), the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) since 2009, STOXX since 2010, and MSCI since 2014.
The Dow Jones Index series, launched in 1999, is one of the main global references for corporate responsibility performance. Some 2,500 companies are part of the eligible pool worldwide, with only 10% being listed on the DJSI (sustainability index), following a comprehensive assessment by the analytics and research company RobecoSAM.
