Fraternidad-Muprespa, a Mutual Insurance Company that works in conjunction with the Spanish Social Security, awarded the works for the construction of its Central Hospital in a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman-Banasa. The awarding of the contract, made by public works tender, was made to the most advantageous bid, and to a project focussed on environmental sustainability.
Fraternidad-Muprespa, a Mutual Insurance Company that works in conjunction with the Spanish Social Security, awarded the works for the construction of its Central Hospital located on the Paseo de la Habana, 83-85. This will be only mutual insurance sector hospital in the Madrid municipality.
The temporary joint venture (UTE) Ferrovial Agroman - Banasa put forward a tender with a strong element of environmental sustainability and the best economic terms. The works will be carried out within a period of 24 months and the inauguration will take place in 2018. The budgeted investment, between work and staff, stands at 30.4m Euros.
The hospital will be a pioneer in energy efficiency, with the aspiration of obtaining LEED PLATINUM certification in accordance with the Green Building Certification Institute criteria. This will enable it to reduce its operational energy consumption and bring down its environmental impact to a minimum. It will be the only hospital in the Spanish capital to have achieved this certification to date.
It will boast 50 rooms for hospital in-patients, emergency services and rehabilitation, 16 medical consultation rooms, a surgical block with three operating theatres, and a diagnostic imaging unit with the latest technology, including CAT scan, magnetic resonance and digital radiology.
Fraternidad-Muprespa, with a staff of 1,950 employees and more than 150 centres in Spain, protects 1,355,000 workers and self-employed professionals against occupational and general contingencies.
