Ferrovial Airports has appointed Kevin Cox Chief Executive Officer of its vertiports business. With more than thirty years’ experience in the aviation sector, Cox will lead this new business area that will focus on the development of vertiport networks for the take-off, landing, operation, and maintenance of passenger services of electrical jet aircraft.
Cox has served in executive leadership positions at some of the largest and most complex organizations, including one of the busiest airports in the world—DFW International Airport; the world’s largest Airline—American Airlines; Signature Aviation an FBO Network, and EPIC Aviation.

He received his B.A in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and is Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University.

Vertiports are essential infrastructure for landing, recharging, and taking off with passengers of all-electric, vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet aircraft. These intermodal centers, which are integrated into the city and adapted to the surroundingenvironment, reduce noise impact, allow zero operating emissions and improve energy efficiency through innovative design.
The company has already announced that it will develop a network of more than ten vertiports across state of Florida, in the United States and a network of twenty-five vertiports across the United Kingdom. It is currently studying other markets in the United States and around the globe which will likely benefit from a more sustainable and efficient mode of urban transportation.
