ENR Texas & Louisiana, the leading source for construction and engineering news, has recognized the North Tarrant Express (Segments 1 & 2W) as its 2015 Best Project of the Year in the Highway/Bridge category. The $2.1 billion highway reconstruction project along one of the most congested corridors in the state of Texas was a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman US Corp. and Webber. The North Tarrant Express opened to the public on October 4, 2014, 9 months ahead of schedule.
The annual awards of excellence honor the best construction projects – and companies that designed and built them – in the United States and Puerto Rico. Projects compete in 20 specialized categories, which are then judged by independent juries of industry leaders in design and construction. The judging criteria include safety, innovation and teamwork.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition from ENR,” said Ignacio Vivancos, managing director of Ferrovial Agroman US Corp. “The successful completion of this highly complex project required the very best in design, engineering, and construction delivery and innovation; our team and many project partners demonstrated their continuous commitment to excellence throughout the life of this trailblazing highway reconstruction endeavor.”
The project team will accept the regional award at ENR’s awards ceremony on December 8 in Houston, Texas.
