The Fundación Caminos held its awards gala last Thursday, May 12th, at the Teatro Real in Madrid. These awards distinguish the professionals with the most accumulated merits, the companies that have contributed the most to the technical development of the profession, the most cutting-edge works and the solidarity initiatives carried out by engineers or their companies.
Xavier Flores, Secretary General of Infrastructures, was in charge of presenting the Professional Career Award and highlighted, during the gala, the value of Rafael Del Pino as a model of inspiration both for professionals in the sector and for society in general.
Del Pino considers that the Fundación Caminos award is a great satisfaction as it is a recognition from his colleagues whom he deeply admires. During the gala, Del Pino said that he was very excited to receive this award because of his dual vocation as a businessman and engineer and because he considers it a recognition of all his colleagues at Ferrovial. In his own words, it is “an award for all those who make up Ferrovial now and in the past”.
For Rafael del Pino, the creation of quality employment and the construction of quality infrastructure that transforms the lives of citizens are Ferrovial’s main contribution to economic and social development.
The Chairman of Ferrovial recognizes his motivation as a businessman and engineer in continuing the family legacy and recalls the merit and value of his father, Rafael del Pino, who founded the company in 1952 starting from scratch.
