For the second year running, the Southampton airport had a record number of passengers, with more than two million enjoying its fast, flexible facilities.
Neil Garwood, general director of the Southampton airport, said,
"I'm thrilled to see such strong figures, which show our passengers' dedication to using their local airport. We've had an incredible year at the Southampton airport, and we're looking to the future with confidence."
In 2018, Fly Lolo introduced the first route to Greece from the airport to Skiathos, and easyJet in turn brought back its popular route to Geneva. Likewise, the airport recently published a draft of its Master Plan that details the airport’s development over the next twenty years in order to offer its passengers even more options.
This year, the airport will once again welcome Fly Lolo with seven new routes to Greece, Spain, Montenegro, Croatia, and Bulgaria. Furthermore, the airport will offer passengers more choices for their favorite routes to Alicante, Faro, and Malaga as part of Flybe’s extended summer program.
