Transportation a key theme at the Annual Northeast Tarrant Transportation Summit

The North Tarrant Express was a title sponsor of the 8th Annual Northeast Tarrant Transportation Summit hosted in Texas. This year “Creating the Transportation Tomorrowland, Today” was the key theme. In February 2017, the Northeast Tarrant Transportation Summit took place in the Hurst Conference Centre in Hurst, Texas. This edition was hosted by Tarrant County Commissioner for Precinct 3, Gary Fickes and sponsored by the North Tarrant Express and NTE Mobility Partners. Now in its 8th year, the summit is one of the largest transportation events in Texas, showcasing a variety of speakers and panels discussing the future of transportation in Tarrant County, the state of Texas and the rest of the United States. This year’s theme, “Creating the Transportation Tomorrowland, Today,” was based on the future of transportation, infrastructure and urban development. This theme was echoed in the topics discussed, such as driverless cars, evolutions in the urban landscape and logistics of the future. Robert Hinkle, Director of Corporate Affairs, moderated a panel discussion about autonomous vehicles and when we would be seeing them on the roads of North Texas. In addition, the program’s keynote speaker was MIT’s Kent Larson, who explored the intersection of transportation technology and urban design. Among the future development of transportation technology on display was "Buzzy," a drone that captured impressive photos of the audience throughout the day. The audience of more than 700 included federal state and local elected officials as well as business leaders and companies from the transportation industry.
