We will manage 390,000 tons of waste in the Canary Islands (Spain)

Provincial authorities in Gran Canaria (Spain) recently inaugurated the construction works at Salto del Negro’s new Environmental Center.

Each year, this complex managed by Ferrovial Services will process over 390,000 tons of waste.

The waste management model that will be implemented in this new infrastructure will enable yearly savings of 219,430 tons of CO2, equivalent to the annual emissions of 99,778 vehicles or 260,000 households.

We will increase waste recovery levels by 15%. Also, new treatment of light packaging will enable additional savings of up to 37,000 tons of CO2.
