Press Release

Ferrovial heads the list of Spanish companies in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) because of the management of its carbon footprint

Ferrovial obtained the highest score in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2010 Spain report, presented today by CDP and Ecología y Desarrollo (Ecodes), which measures the quality of emissions management and disclosure. Ferrovial obtained 89 points, the highest score in Spain, alongside Telefónica, in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for 2010.

The Carbon Disclosure scores rate the quality and integrity of company disclosures on the basis of good practices in internal management of the data on greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, etc. Ferrovial’s score ranks it in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI), which includes companies that have made progress with identifying risks, developing opportunities, responsibility and corporate governance, communication and results on climate change.

The goal of the CDP is to provide investors worldwide with a tool for evaluating how leading companies assess and respond to the risks and opportunities associated with climate change. To this end, CDP performs an annual survey of how the world’s leading companies are managing climate change. The survey has been conducted in Spain since 2008.
