Ferrovial, leader in sustainability in its sector, according to Dow Jones Best‑in‑Class World Index

Ferrovial has been recognized as the leader in sustainability in the Construction and Engineering sector, according to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index. In addition, the company has been recognized as the most sustainable in Europe within its sector for the third consecutive year. This index, compiled annually by S&P Global, is considered an international standard for sustainability and is the most prestigious in the world in this field.

Ferrovial’s recognition comes after an exhaustive analysis of its performance across key environmental, social, and economic aspects. S&P Global specifically highlighted the strength of the company’s governance and risk management, as well as accurate identification and monitoring of emerging risks. Moreover, it also commended the effective application of its code of conduct and the ethics and compliance framework, supported by policies, training, and internal control mechanisms. Finally, S&P Global recognized the company´s strong commitment to promoting and defending human rights.

Sustainability at the core

In addition to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index, Ferrovial is included in leading sustainability indices such as MSCI, Morningstar Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good, CDP, ISS ESG, and Euronext ESG, which highlight the company’s best practices in this area. In line with this commitment, the company continues to advance its 2030 Sustainability Strategy, focusing on three key areas: environment, people, and governance, all aimed at generating a positive and lasting impact.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJ BIC) indices, created in 1999 and managed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, serve as a global benchmark for recognizing companies that excel in sustainability performance. These indices identify the top-performing companies in each sector based on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.
