Ferrovial is the most transparent company in the Ibex-35 index, according to a report published recently by Financial Dynamics, one of the market´s most prestigious financial consultants. The report, which surveyed 200 financial analysts, concluded that Ferrovial (with an overall score of 89%) was the best Ibex-35 company in the four key areas that measure a company´s transparency: financial disclosure, investor relations (off-line and on-line) and corporate governance.
The average score of the 35 Ibex companies was 63%. Ferrovial was followed by Indra (82%) and Endesa (74%). The last two companies, which failed the survey, were Acciona (40%) and Sogecable (48%). Regarding other construction groups, ACS was ranked 12th (68%), Dragados was 27th (56%) and FCC was 32nd (scraping through with 50%).
Financial disclosure, investor relations and corporate governance
Ferrovial scored 92% in financial disclosure, one of the aspects most valued by analysts, as stated in the Financial Dynamics report. Ferrovial scored 94% in investor relations, another important factor since it relates to accessibility and direct contact with the company, efficiency in providing information in a timely manner and the ability to respond effectively to analysts´ questions. The health of Ferrovial´s financial communications was also measured in this report through on-line investor relations (Internet). Ferrovial was the leader of the Ibex companies with 88% and even beat the ratings of other European countries, as stated in the report. Ferrovial also headed the ranking of best corporate governance practices with 83%.
