  • A consortium comprising Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman will build a section of the S7 Expressway in Ostroda, including the city bypass.
  • The project has a budget of 1.072 billion zlotys (259 million euro), and will take 20 months, excluding the three-month winter period.
  • This is the second contract Budimex has secured in the construction of this road, set to run through the centre of Poland and link the country’s north and south.

Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways has chosen the consortium comprising Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman to build a new section of the S7 Expressway, in the northern city of Ostroda, in a contract worth 1.072 billion zlotys (around 259 million euro). The S7 Expressway will link the north and south of Poland, running through the centre of the country and connecting the cities of Gdansk, Warsaw, Kielce and Kraków.

The project entails building a 9.7-km section of road with two lanes in each direction, the 8.7-km Ostroda bypass, and two intersections, as well as other infrastructure such as bridges and overpasses. The consortium has 20 months to complete the project, excluding the three-month winter period. This is the second section of the S7 Expressway awarded to Budimex. In November 2014, it landed a contract to build a 9.4-km section between Milomlyn and Ostroda.
