The consortium comprising Budimex, Ferrovial Agroman's
Polish subsidiary, with Hitachi Power and Técnicas Reunidas was been chosen by PGE, Poland's largest electric utility, to expand the Turów power plant in south-west Poland
. The contract, which covers design and construction of a new 450 MW power block, is worth 3.25 billion zlotys (about 770 million euro)
. The work is expected to take 56 months.Budimex will assemble the control and measurement equipment, build the cooling tower and the ash and slag removal system, and install piping and ancillary thermal and mechanical equipment.This contract expands Budimex's position in industrial construction in Poland, where it is involved in projects for cement and power plants as well as waste and water treatment facilities.
