Ferrovial has joined Foro de Reputación Corporativa (FRC), a forum for dialogue, analysis and dissemination of trends in Corporate Reputation and Corporate Social Responsibility. The forum was founded in 2002 by Grupo Agbar, BBVA, Repsol YPF and Telefónica and is coordinated by Instituto de Empresa. Ferrovial joins the forum at the same time as Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Iberia, Inditex and Renfe.
FRC´s primary aim is to increase the value of companies using intangible assets as value generators. It aims to share research and disseminate knowledge in the areas of Corporate Reputation and Corporate Social Responsibility, analyse different management methods in these fields, value intangible assets and study the influence and inter-relations between the main intangibles in Corporate Reputation: ethics, social responsibility, identity, brand and corporate governance. Foro de Reputación Corporativa plans to create a think tank to examine in depth the private and public sector initiatives which aim to increase the confidence of the financial markets and business in general, defend stakeholder interests and respond to social concerns.
In 2003, Foro de Reputación Corporativa and the Reputation Institute of the Stern School of Business at New York University held the European Corporate Reputation Congress in Spain for the first time. It was attended by over 100 participants from twenty countries who are interested in analysing the impact of Corporate Reputation on business profitability. Another noteworthy event organised by FRC was the meeting with executives from FTSE4Good, an indicator which measures socially responsible action and takes account not only of financial variables but also of compliance with parameters relating to ethics, human rights and corporate governance.
