Ferrovial, through its Construction branch in the UK and Ireland, has announced a partnership with Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund as its charity of the year. The organization supports children and their families who are affected by cancer, providing practical and emotional support during their treatment and beyond.
Ferrovial is committed to making a positive impact in the communities where it operates, and the introduction of a charity of the year initiative is a natural extension of that commitment, supporting local initiatives in the UK and Ireland. Employees in the region voted for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund to be the selected charity, forming part of the company’s goal to bring positive impact to local families. This important relationship will continue over the course of one year, from September 2023 to the end of August 2024. During this time, the company will work closely with the charity to raise awareness and funds for its vital work.
As part of the partnership, Ferrovial will be involved in a range of fundraising activities, including sponsored events, charity campaigns, and employee-led initiatives. These initiatives will involve the company’s employees, clients, and suppliers, creating a shared sense of purpose and community.
Commenting on the partnership, Karl Goose, Ferrovial Construction UK & Ireland’s Managing Director, said: “Launching our partnership with Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund has given me enormous satisfaction, knowing that the contributions our business, employees and supply chain make to this brilliant charity’s work will go directly to the people affected. From a corporate perspective, channeling our fundraising and charitable support by having a named Charity of the Year, is a great step to engage with the issues and causes closest to their hearts. ”
Lindsey Bidwell, Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund’s Relations & Partnership Manager added: “It’s an honor to be named Ferrovial Construction’s charitable partner of the year. Through this partnership, we will be able to raise awareness about the impact of our work and the devastating consequences of this cruel disease. It will make a huge difference and empower us to help even more families whose lives have been destroyed by the traumatic impact of childhood cancer”.
