Ferrovial has won a top prize in this years European Excellence Awards, in the category of Mergers and Acquisitions, for the company's communication and rebranding campaign carried out to accompany the merger of the company with its subsidiary Cintra last year. The awards were hosted by Communication Director Magazine, and given at a ceremony at the ofín Palace in Prague, Czech Republic.
Among a total of 1,450 participants, the jury, which was composed of more than 30 esteemed communications specialists, commended Ferrovials campaign for designing a modern, creative and innovative corporate identity for both itself and its respective brands. Of special note was the strategy of the Ferrovial-Cintra merger project, the benefits of which were successfully conveyed to markets with Ferrovial positioning itself as the largest private developer of transport infrastructure and services in the world.
Within the category of 'Mergers and Acquisitions', Ferrovial outperformed other shortlisted campaigns submitted by Deutsche Bank, Caja Mediterráneo, Cajastur, Caja Extremadura and Caja Cantabria, among others. The European Excellence Awards were created to honor outstanding achievement in the communication profession on an international scale. The awards take a comprehensive look at the full spectrum of communications disciplines throughout Europe.
The prestigious magazine "Communication Director", belonging to the editorial Helios Media, is also a co-host of the European Communication Summit, the largest European meeting of communication professionals. Helios Media, based in Brussels, has provided information for professionals in the areas of politics, economy and media since 2000.
