As part its "Stronger Together" corporate responsibility programme, Ferrovial has allocated more than 100,000 euro to two projects: supporting the families of young patients at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, and developing a drinking water system at a school in Ethiopia (with ONG Rescate Internacional). The company and its employees have donated to projects in India, Madagascar, Burundi, Peru, Chad and Lebanon, among other countries, since 2005.
Rafael del Pino, Chairman of Ferrovial, Manel del Castillo, Managing Director of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and Juan Ángel López, Chairman of ONG Rescate Internacional, signed a cooperation agreement today as part of Ferrovial's Stronger Together corporate social responsibility programme. Through this initiative, Ferrovial employees voluntarily donate part of their paycheck to a social project. The company matches the employees' contributions. This year, Ferrovial has allocated more than 100,000 euro to two projects: supporting the families of young patients at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, and developing a drinking water system at a school in Ethiopia (with ONG Rescate Internacional). "Ferrovial employees' commitment to the development of society is visible once again in this edition of Stronger Together". We are sure that the projects will play a key role in mitigating the vulnerable situations faced by these groups at risk," said Rafael del Pino. The agreement with Sant Joan de Déu Hospital aims to provide assistance such as food subsidies, housing, transport, medicine, prostheses and interpretation services for disadvantaged families with children in the hospital. Close to 3,200 people will benefit from this project. The collaboration with ONG Rescate Internacional will ensure access to drinking water for students and teachers at the school and health centre in Gode, who will receive breakfast, lunch and clean water every day. Additionally, classes will be given on health and sanitation in connection with food. Since Stronger Together commenced in 2005, the company and its employees have donated to projects in India, Madagascar, Burundi, Peru, Chad and Lebanon, among other countries.
