Yet again, Dornier obtains concession of the Blue Zone in Valencia
Dornier, a firm integrated in Cintra and specialised in management of regulated, above ground parking lots, has been awarded the concession of the Blue Zone service in Valencia. The number of spaces assigned, after winning the tender again amounts to nearly 5,000 and the concession term is 3 to 5 years.
Dornier will include improvements in the service, that will consist of progressive renewal of the 246 ticket issuers in the Blue Zone of the capital, which shall be equipped with a GSM communications system and readers for all card types, including the electronic purse. Dornier manages the Blue Zone of more than a dozen areas in the Valencia region, among them Benicasim, Benicarló, Peñíscola, Segorbe, etc.
More than 100,000 parking spaces in Spain and Portugal
In the last two years, the Ferrovial group has maintained a rate of awards and acquisitions in the parking field that has made it a leader on the national market. Cintra, the groups firm, in charge of tenders and management of all kinds of infrastructure and transport concessions, now manages more than 100,000 parking spaces in the main cities of Spain and Portugal through three companies (Ferrovial Aparcamientos, ESSA and Dornier). This year, in the parking area, it foresees a turnover of more than 9,000 million pesetas, 30% more than the previous year.
