Thames Tideway Tunnel is the new infrastructure under construction to improve London’s sewer system.

The construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel is divided into three sections totalling 25 km. Ferrovial Agroman’s consortium is in charge of the central section, which is 12.7 km long. It runs from Carnwath Road Riverside in the west to Chambers Wharf in the east. It will be built using 2 TBMs with a diameter of 8.86 metres, which will be launched from Kirtling Street (Battersea).

The contract also includes building 8 shafts between 42 and 62 metres deep, 6 tunnels connecting with the main tunnel, as well as landscaping and architectural integration on the banks of the river.
