Mark Saunders, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Cities, and Nicola Curtis, Head of HSEQ – Environmental Services at Amey, describe the “Smart Workwear” initiative. During this project, 28 volunteers in the Wolverhampton (UK) waste collection contract wore sensor-equipped clothing during their workday. These wearables monitored health indicators such as heartbeat, walked distance or stress levels.
