The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has awarded Webber’s Heavy Civil division a $282.9 million contract to widen a section of I-95.
The I-95 Robeson County project will take place between mile marker 29 and mile marker 37 between the cities of Fayetteville and Lumberton in North Carolina. With an increase in traffic volume predicted for the area, the scope of work will include the widening of I-95 to a total of eight travel lanes, the replacement of several bridges and overpasses and upgrading any necessary drainage culverts along the project.
Construction for the project will start in late Summer 2022 and is estimated to be finished by the end of 2026.

This is the second project awarded to Webber in North Carolina, where the company was selected by NCDOT to build 3.1 miles of the eastern section of the future Interstate 74 Winston-Salem Northern Beltway for $262 million.
