Ferrovial has selected Telefónica as its supplier of communications for the next five years, in order to develop solutions that add value to the business and support its international expansion. The agreement, signed by Íñigo Meirás, CEO of Ferrovial, and José María Álvarez-Pallete, Chairman of Telefónica, is a part of Ferrovial’s digital transformation strategy to maintain its lead in infrastructure development and management.
Through this agreement, Ferrovial and Telefónica will work together to develop fixed and mobile technology, collaboration tools, new workplace services and specific security solutions which will entail a leap forward in cybersecurity and cyber-surveillance. In addition, both companies will examine the scope for collaboration in the areas of Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Cities.
Upon signing the agreement, Íñigo Meirás, CEO of Ferrovial, highlighted that “this global agreement will enable us to pursue our expansion strategy in a very agile, flexible way, providing new services that will support our ongoing digital transformation process.”
