Madrid, 5 December 2003. Ferrovial and Telefónica Móviles España (TME) have reached an agreement to cooperate in the development of mobile solutions using the current GPRS networks and third-generation (UMTS) networks.
Telefónica Móviles and Ferrovial will study the possibilities that new mobile technologies offer for Ferrovial´s services, infrastructure, real estate development and construction businesses. The goal is to define, develop and implement mobile applications for business management and customer relations.
According to Ignacio Martínez-Jorcano, Ferrovial´s Head of Information Systems, “the agreement will help us face the challenge of providing our professionals with the best mobile solutions and tools in order to continue improving our abilities and efficiency in managing our businesses and services”.
For Telefónica Móviles España, this agreement involves fitting one of the most important sectors in Spain, in terms of contribution to GDP, with tools to modernise its processes, so as to optimise and improve efficiency of its services to end customers, stated Antonio Hernández, General Manager of Marketing and Sales at Telefónica Móviles.
