Ferrovial has launched its own channel on YouTube, the internet’s top audiovisual site
In celebration of Internet Day (May 17), www.diadeinternet.org Ferrovial is launching its own channel on YouTube, http://youtube.com/ferrovial, an interactive website where users can obtain information about the latest developments at Ferrovial through newsclips and multimedia reports. Users can also subscribe to Ferrovial’s bulletin, leave comments, and send videos to their friends, in both Spanish and English.
The website contains reports on energy production using biogas; 1,000 images of Ferrovial activities; construction of the Montabliz Viaduct in Cantabria, which has the tallest pier in Spain; Dulcinea, the largest tunnel-boring machine in the world, used in Madrid’s Calle 30 Southern Bypass project; “Maji ni Uhai (Water is Life)”, a movie on water treatment in Tanzania; and the recent construction of the new Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow Airport.
Following publication of audiovisual reports on the 2007 results (http://memoria2007.ferrovial.es and http://report2007.ferrovial.com ), this initiative promotes new technologies as part of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (May 17). It is an online project that aims to bridge the digital divide and facilitate access to the Information Society for people with disabilities and groups without internet connectivity.
