Broadspectrum, the Australian subsidiary of Ferrovial Services, received an award in the event marking the Western Australia Work Safety Awards presented by the Trade Department of the state of Western Australia. These awards recognise initiatives dealing with occupational safety issues through innovative solutions in the state of Western Australia. The company was one of three shortlisted in the Best Initiative to Encourage Worker Engagement in Safety and Health, to reward the originality and innovation of the company’s Mental Health Check-In project.
The initiative helped 700 employees review their mental health status. During the process, all participants received one-to-one attention, with an individualised programme for making positive improvements and the offer of professional support when required.
The Broadspectrum initiative was the only shortlisted project focusing specifically on mental health, and the award was presented to the company for its dedication and encouragement of this work safety initiative, the end purpose of which is to achieve a zero accident rate.
