Broadspectrum, subsidiary of Ferrovial Services in Australia and New Zealand, will start providing maintenance services in all public facilities managed by the New Zealand Government. The company will become part of a panel of service providers managed by the Government Property Group (GPG), which reports to the Executive.
This panel of service providers will be responsible for maintenance and asset management of all Crown Estate Office public facilities – a total of more than 1.5 million m2 – over the next four years, with an option to extend the contract for a further two.
With this new contract, Broadspectrum further strengthens its relations with the New Zealand Government, which is a strategic client for the company. It will also allow a deeper understanding of the individual needs of the various government agencies and their assets. This is the first time the New Zealand Government outsources maintenance services for its agencies.
Broadspectrum and the Australian Government
This contract with the New Zealand Government adds to the one recently signed with the Australian Government for maintenance services in 37 public buildings over four years. A key aspect of the agreement was the inclusion of a clause whereby the employment rate within the company for Aboriginal people would be 6.5% for 2018, in order to comply with and support the Australian Government’s insertion targets.
