The Albert Embankment, Heathwall Pumping Station and Falconbrook Pumping Station sites at Tideway Central have all been recognized for a multitude of safety enhancements in January’s Rightway In Delivery Awards.
Rightway In Delivery is Tideway’s monthly celebration of positive attitudes towards health, safety, and wellbeing across the project. The three sites won in the Communications & Engagement and the Performance & Improvement categories of the award.
Albert Embarkment won the Communications and Engagement category and was recognized for commissioning a safety board specifically for lifting operations. This highlights daily wind speeds, color coded lifting permissions, interfaces, contacts and the lift schedule.
Falconbrook Pumping Station won the Communications and Engagement category and was recognized for its proactive sharing of health, safety and welfare risks. Their signage covers best practice, lessons learned and, most importantly, is consistently updated.
Finally, Heathwall Pumping Station won the Performance and Improvement category. Drawing on experience from a former project, Heathwall introduced combined harnesses and lifejackets, ensuring adequate and efficient PPE coverage between different working environments.
