In June, just in time for the commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the Spanish Road Association, Fidel Sáenz de Ormijana, Chief Technical Officer at Ferrovial Agroman, was awarded the Medal of Honor with Special Mention.
The Association has awarded these to professionals who, through performance in their work, have collaborated with or continually supported the Association in its fight to improve road infrastructure.
Other awards handed out by the organization included the Medal of International Merit, presented to the Ministry of Transport in Argentina for its involvement in improving road networks as well as road safety; and the Silver Medal, awarded to the Fundación ACS the steps it has taken in fields related to universal accessibility, environmental defense, or scientific and technical research.
The Gold Medal was awarded to long-time members of the Association’s Economic Council: the Ministry of Development, Cepsa, Repsol, and Acciona.
The awards ceremony was held at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos de Madrid, with various individuals from different areas of Spanish culture, politics, and business in attendance.
