NBHR Awards Recognition

Local news

Ferrovial Agroman Australia (FAA) has been recognised through several awards for its outstanding work on the Northern Beaches Hospital Road Upgrade Project (NBHR).

The project involves upgrading and widening Frenchs Forest Road as well as installing a 1.3km open cut tunnel along Warringah Road – one of the busiest roads in Sydney, Australia.

The NBHR team were required to demolish the old Forest Way Pedestrian Bridge that was across 9 lanes of traffic on Warringah Road. Through excellent management and engineering by Ferrovial Agroman, the demolition of the pedestrian bridge won The Australian Business Award for Business Excellence 2018. This award recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that demonstrate excellence in business management.

The NBHR project also won the 2017 Landscape Architecture Award from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects for their Urban and Landscape Design Strategy through AECOM, the company selected by FAA to undertake the design component of the project. The NBHR Urban and Landscape  Design Strategy aims to create a safe and enjoyable driving experience within a legible urban corridor  that integrates seamlessly into its suburban bushland setting.

The awards are an acknowledgement to Ferrovial Agroman’s pioneering approach to their projects and the hard work of the team on site.
