Consorci Besos Tordera has awarded Cadagua the contract for maintenance and conservation of two wastewater treatment plants in the municipalities of Montornès del Vallès and Vilanova del Vallès, located in Vallès Oriental region of Catalonia. The duration of this contract is two years, with the possibility of an extension of an additional year with a budget of 5.2 million Euros.

WWTP of Montornès is one of the biggest and largest of storage capacity in Besòs basin, counting among its stages of biological treatment, anaerobic sludge digestion, Co-digestion (with an addition of substrates with high carbon content) and Cogeneration (through two engines of 300 kW/u).

These facilities, along with 77.7 kilometres of collectors and three pumping stations guarantee the purification service for more than 185,000 equivalent habitants.

In addition to the maintenance and conservation of these treatment plants, and their pumping stations and associated collectors, the award includes improvement actions of different kinds: energy optimization, reduction of the consumption of chemical reagents, process monitoring, equipment replenishment, updating functionality of existing installations, etc.

Cadagua remains a benchmark in the management of wastewater facilities, in this case in Catalonia and Balearic Islands, with one of the most important customers in the area.
