I-66 Express Mobility Partners received the 2020 Business Partnership Award from the Prince William County Public Schools Foundation SPARK (Supporting Partnerships and Resources for Kids). The organization received this award for its sponsorship of the 2020 Prince William Manassas Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
The fair, which featured hundreds of middle and high school students from public and private schools throughout the County, gave I-66 Express Mobility Partners the opportunity to provide teacher resources to prepare students for the fair, logistical support, and prizes for the entrants across ten categories. Its employees took part as judges for the competition and helped present the awards to category winners in each age group.
“The support of I-66 Express Mobility Partners helps us to continue to grow the science fair and to enhance STEM education programs regionwide”
In February, I-66 Express Mobility Partners announced its partnership with the Foundation to be the first-ever platinum sponsor of the Prince William-Manassas Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PWMRSEF).
Julia Renberg, director of the regional fair and the PWCS supervisor of science, pledged to use this contribution to establish stipends for school fair coordinators and monetary awards for winning projects at the regional fair, and to sponsor participation of grand prize high school students in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
The PWMRSEF is affiliated with the ISEF – the world’s largest pre-college science competition. It is a forum for middle and high school students to enter research projects in 13 categories that include engineering, math, physics, computers, and environmental and behavioral sciences.
“The Prince William-Manassas Regional Science and Education Fair gave us a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on STEM education programs county-wide. We were truly impressed by the innovative and creative work of the students at this year’s Fair, and we were honored to receive the Business Partner Award for our support.”
Sponsorship of the Science and Engineering Fair is part of I-66 Express Mobility’s commitment to
support STEM education initiatives to develop the workforce of the future.
The team is currently transforming the I-66 from I-496 to Gainesville and is in charge of designing and rebuilding 22.5 miles of highway, which will have two Express Lanes and three general lanes and will be finalized in late 2022.
