Portuguese highway Via do Infante launched a campaign last week to raise awareness among its users about the importance of driving safely during the holiday period.

The objective is to promote road safety among all the road’s users. Juan Pablo Matute, CEO of Via do Infante:

“When we say road safety, we mean all methods and approaches to preventing road accidents. This includes the active measures that we install on the Via do Infante, such as physical components that make for a safer trip, but it also refers to things that drivers must do themselves.”

o raise awareness among road users, the company produced posters setting out good driving habits, such as limiting the use of electronic devices, wearing a seatbelt, obeying speed limits, keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front, making sure the vehicle is in good working order, and not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Matute said,

“With this initiative we want to remind our users of some recommendations that all drivers should follow before and during a trip, especially at this time of the year, when there is more traffic on the roads. We hope to avoid, prevent and minimize the effects of distractions and traffic violations by fostering good driving practices,”
