Webber, LLC, has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to construct underpasses at the intersections of SL1 (Mopac) and Slaughter Lane and SL1 and LaCrosse Avenue in Austin, TX. The project was bid at $53 million and will be led by Project Manager Mario Rosino.
The intersection at Slaughter Lane will be constructed in two phases. Once Slaughter Lane is completed, the bridge at the intersection at LaCrosse will be constructed in one phase by closing LaCrosse and detouring traffic around. The reconstruction of each bridge has milestones associated with them that include penalties for exceeding the timeline milestone, as well as bonuses for early completion. TxDOT used innovative design concepts to accelerate construction which utilize precast bridge elements that will aid in meeting the milestones.
“The SL 1 project is an exciting opportunity for Webber as we expand our Central Texas Regional Office’s footprint”
