Ferrovial received the award in the Best Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility category of the Social Enterprise Awards presented by the Mundo Ciudad Foundation last June in the Círculo de Bellas Artes, in Madrid.
The ceremony was attended by Cristina Moral, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager at Ferrovial, and Juan Carnicero, head of auditing and CSR reporting at Ferrovial, who received the award from Juan Ramón Plana, former head of the Spanish Association of Advertisers (AEA). In the words of Cristina Moral:
This award is a form of recognition for all our social projects, among which we can highlight the Social infrastructures Programme, the Juntos Sumamos (Stronger Together) Programme and the various social action projects we have implemented in Spain that have reached more than 400,000 beneficiaries.
The Social Enterprise Awards, which celebrated their 7th edition this year, offer recognition to businesses that set universal examples in terms of social responsibility and commitment to the most prevalent humanitarian and environmental issues as well as to society. In addition to Ferrovial, the list of award winners included Campofrío, Red Cross Spain, the Affinity Foundation, the Electrolux Group, Nacex and Sanitas, among others.
