Amey, a leading UK infrastructure services provider has been awarded the IiP Gold standard for going above and beyond in the way they develop, support and motivate their employees. Amey which previously won silver is the only company in its sector to have been awarded Investors in People Gold across the whole of its business.

Amey which previously won silver is the only company in its sector to have been awarded Investors in People Gold across the whole of its business.
The Gold award celebrates companies that perform significantly beyond the core Investors in People Standard. The Standard provides a solid foundation for further growth and development and is awarded to well-run organisations which meet demanding set criteria, including learning and development, leadership skills and recognition and reward of employees amongst others.
Mel Ewell, Chief Executive at Amey, which has more than 11,000 employees, said: I am delighted that we have been awarded Gold accreditation by Investors in People. It is recognition that we are taking the right steps to ensure we attract and retain talented people whilst promoting a positive working environment.

Amey was praised for its achievements across five core areas including:-

5. The Apprenticeship programme which includes partnering with the Duke of Edinburgh and committing to employing 2% of the workforce as Apprentices was recognised to be outstanding.
Zoe Peters, an Apprentice trainee technician at Amey, says: I think its amazing that Amey gives me the chance to learn whilst I start to build my career. As part of my Apprenticeship, Amey has paid for me to attend university part-time to study for a degree in Civil Engineering. My Apprenticeship has been really good for me on a personal level, as well as on a professional and academic one and Im excited about my future with the business.
Amey will also become an IiP Gold Champion, providing advice and help for other businesses aiming to achieve the award.
