In mid-December, Ferrovial Agroman's R&D Department and the Construction Office in the Canary Islands joined the IV International Congress on Construction and Building Research hosted by the Engineering and Architecture Department at Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife), presenting the European Project ACCEPT, oriented to reduce efficiency-loss during the construction process by applying a wide variety of new technologies (from IT to Big Data, from Internet of Services to human-robot interaction) and tools (apps, smart-glasses, dashboards).
The congress gathered university researchers, stakeholders and companies connected to the construction and building sectors, and there was an innovation forum to share and discuss the latest research and applications in the building and construction industry: materials and construction systems, construction technologies, energy and sustainability, rehabilitation, heritage and maintenance, building management and health and safety in the construction sector.
Ferrovial Agroman's ACCEPT had its kick off in 2015, and focuses on the challenges of our sector: digitalization, energy efficiency and the use of smart-glasses and VR in construction. According to Jesús Alonso, from the R&D department:
"Ferrovial Agroman is leading in the investigation of tools and technologies that are shaping and redefining the future of construction. ACCEPT represents a further step for BIM implementation; it's about information usefulness and having greater control over more elements in our construction projects."You can learn more about BIM by clicking here.
