Broadspectrum awarded new 5-year contract in Queensland

News

Broadspectrum, the Australian subsidiary of Ferrovial Services, has signed a five-year contract with the company QGC, a subsidiary of petroleum company Shell in Australia, to provide eleven service wells and associated services in the Surat Basin region of Queensland.

This agreement will have a considerable impact on the local economy, providing a 20% increase in employment rates. It will also be an important opportunity for the local indigenous population, by increasing employment in this population segment by 50%, doubling the current number of contracts.

This new contract reinforces our ability to deliver innovative solutions in the natural resources sector. We look forward to continuing to work with Shell and QGC to grow our operations in Queensland and boost local activity.

Through this agreement, Broadspectrum’s subsidiary Easternwell will install a new generation Advantage Light Rig (ALRx) platform, which allows for safer and more efficient operations and has the capacity to increase production by 30%.

The ALRx platform has been designed and built at our Toowoomba hub through the Centre of Excellence for Natural Resources. It is clear evidence of our capacity for innovation, which allows us to work across remote regional locations throughout Australia.
