Budimex, Ferrovial’s subsidiary in Poland, has announced the award of new projects for construction and improvement of infrastructures: the provincial hospital of Torun, road improvements in the northeast of the country, and a gas pipeline between Czeszow and Kielczów.
In cooperation with Ferrovial Agroman, the company will rebuild and modernise the provincial hospital of Torun, in the north of the country. The project comprises construction of six new buildings totaling 63,000m2, which will accommodate, amongst others, 12 operating theatres, some 318 beds, a heliport and a psychiatric unit. It will also have a parking space for 300 vehicles, which will be powered with a solar energy system.
Budimex was also awarded a contract for road improvements around Bialystok, the largest city in northeastern Poland and historical capital of the Podlaquia province.
In addition to this, Budimex will build a 33km-long gas pipeline between the cities of Czeszow and Kielczów, as well as all ancillary systems, for the company Gaz-System. Construction will run for 19 months. This project is part of a larger gas pipeline which will deliver gas to the province of Lower Silesia, and is cofinanced with European funds.
