Budimex, the Polish subsidiary of Ferrovial Agroman, has inaugurated the new airport terminal of Lublin. The new airport infrastructure is designed to accommodate one million passengers per year. The project was undertaken through an investment of about 18.4 million euro.
The new terminal was developed in just over a year, since it was signed in October 2011 and its inauguration has taken place in December 2012. The project developed by Budimex included the passenger terminal and its associated facilities, as well as the technical building, the airports garage and the fire center.
Lublins new terminal has an area of 11,000 square meters. Its central area is mainly made ofy the waiting room and the check-in desks. In the eastern wing of the terminal, passengers will find the arrivals and departures area. The south wing is reserved for the train station, the administrative area and the customs officers and border guards.
We have implemented a design that could easily expand the airport if deemed necessary in the future. Currently, Lublins terminal ranks 13th in Poland in terms of total number of passengers per year.
The airport is close to Ukraine and Belarus, and establishes connections with Norway, the United Kingdom, Ireland After the inauguration of the new terminal, several airlines have announced plans to operate regular flights from Lublin.
Budimex increased its portfolio by 24% in 2011, reaching 1,9 bllion euro. The turnover during the year exceeded 1,3 million euro.
