Cadagua operations and maintenance sessions
Cadagua held a series of technical and coordination sessions in an operations and maintenance event organised in Madrid on November 30th, at its facilities in Ribera del Loira in Madrid. Some 50 people from the departments of Quality, Environment and R&D+I, Health and Safety, Procurement and Contracting, as well as Plant and Area managers, and generally those responsible for the contracts in this sector, which has gained such importance in our national market, attended the sessions. These sessions focused on enhancing health and safety aimed at achieving target zero accident rates, optimisation of contract management by taking advantage of synergies and our negotiating power with suppliers, meeting our clients’ demands and adding value for them, and innovation to generate value for management assets. On Friday 1, a visit was made to the facilities of the EDAR (water treatment plant) in the south of Madrid, the largest in the capital which is under Cadagua management for client Canal YII. The visit served to share experiences and knowledge on the characteristics of a plant of this scale, such as generation of energy for self-consumption (over 90% of the plant’s total consumption) through biogas produced during digestion of residual sludge, and the latest technologies in recovery of phosphorus to produce struvite, which can be marketed as a mineral fertilizer in some countries.
