Cadagua will construct the Waste Water Purifying Plant of Markina-Xemein, in Vizcaya
Cadagua, market leader in construction of water treatment and purifying plants, and a member of Grupo Ferrovial, will construct the Waste Water Purifying Plant of Markina-Xemein, in Vizcaya. The project, totaling Pta 600 million, is a part of the ambitious global sewerage plan promoted by the Diputación Foral de Vizcaya. The purifying plant will be constructed by means of a temporary association with Construcciones Lauki and operations are expected to start in 18 months.
The plant will implement more advanced processes than the traditional ones concerning water purification, thus complying with the most demanding requirements of the European Community. The areas population growth has been a determinant element in sizing the facilities, with the aim of solving both current and future water regeneration needs.
Likewise, the plants project will allow storage and use of rainfall water, by means of a storm tank, for its subsequent treatment. Water leaving the plant will be poured in the Artibai river, which supplies several towns in Vizcaya. Likewise, construction materials and structures have been carefully selected taking into account their integration in the rivers natural environment.
Cadagua´s track record, with an experience of more than 25 years, includes many references of urban water regeneration projects, such as the plants of Bilbao, Madrid, Seville, Oviedo, Valencia, Alicante, Teruel, etc.
