Cadagua will treat and purify the waste water of San Vicente de la Barquera Cadagua, a Grupo Ferrovial company, market leader in water treatment and purifying infrastructure construction, has been awarded the contract of the Sewer System, Purification and Effluents of the town of San Vicente de la Barquera, in Cantabria. The investment in the plant totals Pta 500 million, with a construction term of twelve months. The project is part of an ambitious Guideline Plan promoted by the Government of Cantabria for controlling and minimizing the environmental impact in the area. The marked seasonal nature of the towns population has led Cadagua to size the plant in order to meet the needs in any season of the year. Thus, the capacity will vary from a flow of 625 m3/hour during the low season to a flow of 2,500 m3/hour in the high season. The project includes a biological waste water treatment process and a mud treatment line, including mud dehydration and storage of dehydrated mud. Cadagua has many references of urban water regeneration projects, such as the purifying plants of Madrid, Seville, Oviedo, Bilbao, Valencia, Alicante, Teruel, etc. It is currently constructing, among others, the Purifying Plant of Gorliz (Vizcaya) and the second stage of the Purifying Plant of Galindo, which will treat the waste water of the whole left bank of the Nervión Estuary.
