- The NGO Ayuda en Acción is providing support for 1,000 at-risk families by distributing food and hygiene kits in affected neighborhoods in Perú
- The donation is part of the ‘Ferrovial Together COVID-19’ Fund. With this fund, the company aims to help organizations fighting social and health issues to alleviate the effects of the crisis
Ferrovial is holding strong in its commitment to assist those most affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. The company has donated €140,000 to the NGO Ayuda en Acción, which is active in 20 countries seeking to help over 1.4 million people. The donation will support 1,000 at risk families in Peru. They will receive food and hygiene kits in the heavily impacted neighborhoods of the Constitutional Province of Callao. Each kit has enough food and hygiene supplies for a family of five for one month. It includes non-perishable food and personal hygiene products.
The first deliveries to 467 families in Callao took place on August 18. All health safety protocols for the pandemic were observed: disinfection of footwear, handwashing, temperature checking, and using disinfectant throughout.
“From the start of the pandemic, we aimed to work alongside the most vulnerable families. We’ve been able to do this thanks to contributions from our sponsors and partners, as well as support from socially responsible companies. This year, Ayuda en Acción’s work – and the work done by all the organizations providing humanitarian aid – has special importance due to the pandemic.”
The start of this work on August 19 coincided with World Humanitarian Day, a day when humanitarian work is recognized around the world. This is part of Ayuda en Acción’s COVID-19 Response Plan to help more than 9,500 people in Peru.
This donation came from the ‘Ferrovial Together COVID-19’ Fund. The company set this fund up to help those most in need during the pandemic. To learn more about the fund, click here.
