Ferrovial is expanding the growth of its services division through acquiring companies which boost the potential of the segments where the group is already active, to complement organic growth. Purchase of the Eurolimp group, one of the leading companies in the indoor cleaning market in Spain, is totally in line with this objective.
The acquisition enhances Ferrosers position as one of the top five companies in the indoor cleaning market in Spain. Eurolimp was founded in 1981 and comprises two other companies, Eurointegral and Limpxan. Eurolimp is active throughout Spain, specialising in indoor cleaning (offices, installations, landmark buildings, amongst others), primarily in the hospital segment.
Eurolimps most important contracts include the following hospitals: Ramón y Cajal, Carlos Haya, Virgen Arrixaca, Marques de Valdecilla and Fundación Jiménez Díaz. The group also works with other bodies such as the Spanish railway (Renfe), the Spanish Post Office, universities, and entities such as Aena, Inem, Insalud.
At close of 2001, forecasts on revenue growth in the services activity at Ferrovial came to about 210 million euros. The deal will propel the figure up to 290 million euros.
Integration in the Maintenance and Integral Services Management area
Although the Eurolimp brand will be maintained, the company will become part of the Maintenance and Integral Management of Services division at Ferroser.
Ferroser maintains a top position in the fast-growing Facility Management. This activity consists of integrating and optimising all the related services, supplies and installations required by users of a building, from maintenance to cleaning, power, security, internal mail, courier services, garden upkeep and parcel delivery.
Ferroser oversees this type of service in more than 2,000 buildings (nearly 3 million m2), ranging from hospitals to shopping malls, sports centres and landmark buildings (e.g. the Guggenheim museum in Barcelona) as well as offices and plants (e.g. Ericsson).
In this segment, Ferroser also carries out activities connected with the maintenance of installations, industrial maintenance, gardening and forestry services.
