Ferrovial, through Ferrovial Services, has agreed with Global Energy Services (GES) the acquisition of Siemsa, company specialized in technical services for the energy, petrochemical and industrial sectors. With this acquisition, Ferrovial Services expands its offering in the industrial services market. Siemsa, founded in 1982, has 900 employees in Spain and Portugal. It is present in the main petrochemical poles of Spain and in other cities with important industrial presence. In 2014 sales amounted to €57 M with customers such as Repsol, Endesa, REE and Acerinox. From now on, the company will have the capacity to conduct the maintenance and installation of equipment for power generation and distribution; the construction, laying and connection of low and medium voltage installations; the installation and maintenance of analysis and control systems; and to support in dismantling of facilities, such as refineries, nuclear power plants, and electric power plants, among other services. Ferrovial Services has confirmed the management team in their positions. It will also maintain all the current workforce of Siemsa. With the acquisitions of Enterprise in the UK and Steel Ingeniería in Chile in 2014, along with the deal announced today, Ferrovial Services has reinforced its presence in the utilities and the mining sector, and now in the power generation and distribution, petrochemical and industrial sectors. In a very fragmented and local market, Ferrovial Services consolidates itself with an extensive range of services for the private customers, including the facility management, the installation and maintenance of analysis and control equipment, and also engineering and installation of transmission networks for electricity, gas and water.
