Ferrovial Agromán contracted for over Ptas 3 billion in works in Chile

Ferrovial Agromán has just won the contracts for two building works in Chile, with a value of over Ptas 3 billion. In Antofagasta, it is to build a new office complex for the Ministry of Public Works, for an amount in excess of Ptas 800 million, while in the region of Atacama, to the north of the capital, Santiago de Chile, it is to conduct the work on refurbishing, extending and equipping the Copiapo Hospital for Ptas 2.3 billion.

The new complex for the Public Works Ministry will consist of three buildings, two of them 5-story and the third 7-story, placed in the shape of a "U". The work includes the construction of a basement, which will house a casino, kitchens, cellars and a car park. The building will have a façade of porcelanate and aluminum palmettes and the roof will be formed by a metallic structure of the cap type.

In the desert region of Atacama, to the north of the capital, Santiago de Chile, Ferrovial Agromán is to refurbish and extend the hospital in the town of Copiapo. The contract includes the execution and improvement of hospital facilities, including an electricity substation, a power station, drinking water supply services, drains, air-conditioning, clinical gases, fuel, security, etc.

Motorways, airports and real estate development

Amongst the most notable works executed by Ferrovial Agromán in Chile are the construction of three stretches of the motorway on Ruta 5 of the Panamerican Highway, the refurbishment of the Puren-Los Sauces stretch of Ruta R-60-P, and a number of residential buildings. Ferrovial Agromans foreign order book alone exceeds Ptas 160 billion.

Also in Chile, Ferrovial through its subsidiary Cintra- runs four stretches of motorway 750 km- on Ruta 5 of the Panamerican Highway and manages Antofagasta airport. Through Habitaria a company formed by Ferrovial Inmobiliaria and Luksic- it is developing four residential projects in the capital, with 785 homes under construction and for sale.
