Ferrovial Agromán Internacional is awarded a 3,500 million peseta hydraulic works contract in Argentina 

Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional (F&A) began its activity in Argentina by being awarded a project to build the Capture and Pumping Station at Río Hondo, in the province of Santiago del Estero, in the Northwest of the country. The works have a budget of 3,500 million pesetas and are part of the programme to invest in hydraulic infrastructure "General Federal Canal System", that will solve the problem of water supply to the provinces of Santiago del Estero and La Rioja.

The contract reinforces the strategy of consolidation and search for new markets for construction activity abroad by Ferrovial. F&A is the only Spanish construction company in Argentina that bid in the tender to built the Agote Penitentiary Centre, under a "leasing" scheme, that shall require a total investment of 30,000 million in the next fifteen years; and it is opting for projects valued at 70,000 million pesetas.

175,000 million in overseas order backlog

Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional (F&A) has a stable structure in several countries in Europe, Latin America, North America, the North of Africa and Asia, and it now has an order backlog pending execution abroad aggregating 175,000 pesetas.

At present, it is working on various projects in Italy, Canada, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Morocco; hydraulic infrastructures in Colombia and Portugal; several hospitals in Italy and Uruguay; railway works and underground in Portugal; the Olympic Stadium in Tunisia, etc.
