Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional will construct and operate its third highway in Chile

Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional has been awarded the design, construction, financing, maintenance and operation of the 171.3 kilometers of the Temuco-Río Bueno highway in Route 5 of the Pan-American road in Chile. The project totals Pta 34 billion with a concession term of 25 years.

Including this award, the Group has ten transport concessions worldwide three of them in Chile consolidating itself as a world leader in the development of large infrastructure projects.

The project involves the construction of 171 kilometers of new road including, among other things, construction of 25 structures, 18 crossings at different levels, 65 kilometers of service roads and 20 walkways, reconditioning of 124 kilometers of existing road and maintenance of another 23 structures.

The offer of Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional involves a fee of 1,000 pesos and the company will be paying a royalty of 64.5 Unidades de Fomento. On the other hand, Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional will admit Bufete Industrial de México, through its Chilean subsidiary Ovalle Moore, to the consortium.

Four in Spain, six in Latin America

The concession of the Temuco-Rio Bueno highway is the third won by Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional in Chile, joining the other nine transport concessions already owned by the Group worldwide: four in Spain (Europistas, Eurovías, Autema and Autopista del Sol), three in Colombia and, with this one, another three in Chile (the Talca-Chillán highway and El Melón toll tunnel). In this way, the Group, which has an experience of more than thirty years in this activity, consolidates itself as an international market leader in the development of large infrastructure projects. On the other hand, Ferrovial-Agromán Internacional, which expects to close 1997 with revenues in excess of Pta 32 billion, increases its backlog to Pta 90 billion with the inclusion of this last contract.
