Ferrovial Agroman UK and Ireland have been internationally recognised for their outstanding commitment to Health and Safety by the British Safety Council. noti-ferrovial-agromanukThe company has received several International Safety merit awards, for its organisations overall approach in the country, the C435 Crossrail Farringdon contract and the A8 Dualling Belfast to Larne project in Northern Ireland. Ferrovial Agroman UK and Ireland Managing Director Ignacio Clopes said winning the awards was a fantastic achievement. “To be internationally recognised for our health and safety performance is outstanding,” said Ignacio. “Congratulations to our dedicated teams for the time and effort they put in each day to ensure the safety of our workforce. We always have to remember that we work in an industry that has one of the highest risks of injury. It is therefore everyone’s responsibility when working on site to keep health and safety at the core of every decision made”, said. The British Safety Council awards are independently assessed and benchmarked on a company’s health and safety performance, rewarding best practice and maintaining the highest standards. Ferrovial Agroman UK and Ireland Health and Safety Director Robert Hackett said health and safety will always be a core value on every project. “The problem with treating ‘safety as a priority’; is that priorities change depending on the person and the situation", said Robert. Moreover, Ferrovial Agroman has set a new company record for the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) awards, winning seven at the 2014 presentation ceremony. The awards recognise the top 10% of sites’ in the country for their exceptional standards of consideration towards local neighbourhoods, the general public, the workforce and the environment. Of the seven awards, the A8 road project between Belfast and Larne in Northern Ireland was the stand out, being recognised as one of the runners-up for the Most Considerate Site of the year. Ferrovial Agroman Ireland Director Enrique Nieto said the awards confirms the company’s dedication to continuous improvement. “We are very proud of this achievement, and believe that it serves as recognition for the hard work and determination that Ferrovial Agroman is trying to improve the image of the construction industry, and enhance its own standards,” said Mr Nieto.
