CONAMA Environment National Congress 2018

CONAMA was held from November 26 to 29 at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid.

CONAMA 2018, whose slogan was “Rumbo 20.30.,” wanted to send a message of action to society in order to advance sustainability and growth of the green movement. Over the next decade, we will see acceleration in large transformations in fields like energy, urban renewal, mobility, or food, which must undergo a radical change before the year 2030 since changes after that year will not come in time.

The opening ceremony was held last Monday, November 26, and various authorities were in attendance, including the minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, and the mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena.

Ferrovial saw overwhelming participation in this 14th celebration of the National Congress on the Environment with high turnout among Ferrovial staff, from Quality and Environment management as well as business units and corporate areas. The company has collaborated in various forums, working groups, technical sessions, and special activities related to: conservation, biodiversity, adaptation to climate change, water, circular economy, ecological restoration, waste, mobility, and cities.

As CONOMA’s grand finale, after closing remarks Ferrovial, along with the CONOMA Foundation, offered a few recognitions in honor of certain organizations for their advancements in terms of the environment.

For another year, Ferrovial has been a strategic partner of CONAMA, where there was also massive participation from Ferrovial staff from the opening day up to the last minutes of the Congress.
